The challenge

Laithwaite’s Wine partnership with Fulcrum came at a pivotal moment. Having rebranded from Wine People to Laithwaites, implementing a new CRM platform and the peak Christmas season fast approaching, the focus was to grow headcount and efficiently. Many additional marketing, operations and CRM roles were required for this to be at all possible.

With a wishlist of roughly 20 specialised roles to hire for, Laithwaites found that they needed a trusted partner, long term, with an in-depth understanding of their business. The solution

Throughout an initial twelve month partnership, Fulcrum provided a flexible team made up of one Senior Talent Partner and one Talent Consultant.

This team covered both sales, marketing and operations hiring roles, taking on the responsibility of engaging with specialised candidates and senior commercial candidates. Whilst focusing primarily on sourcing the right talent to fill these roles, Fulcrum also worked on additional value add projects, such as D&I initiatives, dedicated workshops and improving the employer branding content to raise Laithwaite’s profile.

The results

Fulcrum hired over 20 roles, saving Laithwaites countless hours that otherwise would have been spent on recruitment and freeing up time for the team to prepare themselves for a crucial period. in addition, by working collaboratively, we were able to reduce the time to hire to 22 days. This initial success meant that a renewed partnership was a no-brainer, and Laithwaites decided to renew the partnership with Fulcrum.

The roles hired were just the beginning of what Fulcrum have achieved so far with Laithwaites, also providing invaluable changes to D&I by improving the interview process, data integrity and filming employer branding content.
